Detectives investigate shooting

Selma police detectives have yet to make an arrest in a shooting on Roosevelt Avenue on Monday.

Selma Police Department Administrative Division Commander Sgt. Doug Stewart said detectives continue to follow up on leads regarding the shooting of a 17-year-old man in the 900 block of Roosevelt Avenue.

“He stated he began run for safety and while running some person told him he had been shot,” Stewart said. “The juvenile stated at the time he felt the pain and noticed blood.”

The victim was treated at the local hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Stewart said another 17-year-old said his vehicle was shot at while he drove in the same area. The second complainant said he was uninjured.
