Selma Police Department Administrative Division Commander Sgt. Doug Stewart said, officers saw a vehicle run a stop sign at Gary Avenue and Lapsley Street on Monday and attempted to stop the driver. That’s when the chase began.

“After a short vehicle pursuit the offender jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot,” Stewart said. “He was apprehended moments later.”

Officers checked the vehicle and found what is believed to be marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle, Stewart said.
