Floyd “Buddy” Gant, age 74, passed away May 28, 2010. Buddy proudly served his country for two and a half years in the Army during the Korean War. Preceding Buddy in death were his parents, Floyd and Doshie Gant and step grandson Caleb.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Diane Gant; step-son Thomas Hodgson, step-daughters, Lisa Jane (Bobby) Burroughs, Allison Renee (Adam) Jennings, Angela (Billy) Necaise, Mary Stanley; brother, Pete (June) Gant; sister, Sally (J.W.) Bates; step-grandchildren, Olivia, Justin, Sydna, Megan, Morgan, Leah, Clifford, Jessica and John. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Samantha, AL with Brother Moore officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Jennings, Adam Wadsworth, Randy Keene, Bobby Burroughs, Peter Gant and Donnie Keene.
