Average retail gasoline prices in Alabama have fallen 4.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.73 per gallon on Sunday, according to the gasoline price website AlabamaGasPrices.com.

This compares with the national average of $2.87 per gallon, a drop over the last week of 3.5 cents per gallon.

The website says prices Sunday were 52.2 cents per gallon higher than the same day a year ago and are 0.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has increased 0.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 58.4 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
