Stephen Kent Pierce, 39, died April 20th, 2010 at his home in Vallejo, California. Stephen was born in Selma, Alabama July 10, 1970.
Stephen was the son of Ann Youngblood Rottman and William Kent Pierce.
He is survived by his wife Dawn Saxton Pierce, a daughter Jazmine Calhoun Pierce, one sister Lynsey Ann Ward of Auburn, Alabama and his Grandmother Evelyn Calhoun Youngblood of Selma, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Kyser Youngblood.
Stephen graduated from Auburn High School, Auburn, Alabama in 1988.
After high school, he worked as a manager of a landscape company in Ashville, North Carolina for several years.
Stephen then enlisted in the Navy and served for 5 years.
One of the most poignant times of his life was when his ship, the USS Anchorage, was the first ship to arrive at the USS Cole when it was bombed.
His heart felt the tremendous joy of being an American and the intense sadness of seeing his fellow Navy comrades suffer.
After serving in the Navy, Stephen worked as an independent computer service technician in the machine tool industry in Sand Diego, California.
If anyone had a few words to say about Stephen it would be about his heart.
He always had a smile on his face and would do anything he could to help anyone.
His pride and joy was his daughter, Jazmine.
He loved the outdoors and wrote many essays on the beauty he saw while touring in the Navy.
He also was an avid photographer.
Stephen you will be sorely missed by so many.
You have touched many lives.
As one of his Navy buddies said, “May God forever shepherd your soul. I will miss you, mon frere.”
