The school may no longer be in existence, but alumni still enjoy reminiscing about days of the past.

To celebrate all the Carlowville School meant to alumni and former teachers, all affiliated with the school are invited to attend the third annual reunion Saturday at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium of the former campus.

“This is just to keep people together,” said Joyce Wilkinson, who graduated from the school in 1951.

Alumni dues are $20, but becoming a member of the alumni group is not required to attend the event. Dues go toward the upkeep of the grounds.

Attendees should pack a lunch if not registered for it. A catered meal will be provided for those already registered.

Carlowville School closed its doors in 1967 after being open for 44 years. The school building also suffered major fire damage in 1976.

Students attended from surrounding communities, including Pleasant Hill, Furman, Sardis and Braggs.
