Mrs. Juliette Hughey Pitts, age 80, died at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama, on Friday morning at 3:30a.m, April 16, 2010.
Services will be held at Ephesus Baptist Church of Sprott on Sunday, April 18, 2010 with Rev. Henry LeVert officiating and Lawrence Brown – Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial following at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Juliette was born on October 23, 1929, in Perry County Hospital in Marion, Alabama. She lived the majority of her life in Sprott and worked over 50 years alongside her husband at Morgan’s Black Belt Tractor Company as a bookkeeper until retiring in 2003. She was a long time member of the Ephesus Baptist Church of Sprott.
Juliette is preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Dovie Hughey; brothers, Dewitt, Franklin, and John Allen; sisters, Ruth Morris, Mildred Hubbard, Lucille McCrary, and Mabel Jones. Surviors include her husband of over 63 years, Henry Lewis Pitts; brother, Haig; two daughters, Janet Pitts of Sprott and Linda Pitts of Bay Minette, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Charles Graham, R.L.Hobson, Larry Huey, Randy Hughey, Sonny Hughey, Don Marchant, Fred Nichols, and David Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ephesus Baptist Church Women’s Sunday School Class.
