How much can $3 buy this Saturday?

Few things cost such a low price, especially for an afternoon of entertainment and athleticism.

For that price, you can attend a Team Haiti basketball tournament for the entire afternoon.

Teams will play at Wallace Community College from noon to 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Haitian relief efforts from the earthquake on Jan. 12 that killed more than 200,000 people and displaced 1.3 million people.

Local officials and leaders will hit the court for the basketball games. Notable participants include Mayor George Evans, Police Chief William T. Riley III, Dallas County Probate Judge Kim Ballard and Selma Fire Department Fire Chief Michael Stokes.

So, go out and support friends and family in this tournament.

It will not only be an afternoon of fun, but a great event that supports a great cause.
