Norma Boswell

Norma Frances Helm Boswell passed away March 13, 2010 in a hospital in Bedford, Va. following a brief illness.
She was the first child born to the marriage of Benjamin Labeaume Helm and Frances Steele Kimbrough. Norma was born in Swartz, La. on January 11, 1923, but they soon moved back to Scooba, Ms. where their families lived.
She grew up in Scooba, and after completing her education, moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the U.S. Government.
While there she met and married Theodore Owen Lohmeyer.
They had one daughter, Conya Gail Lohmeyer who survives her.
She later married Asa Anderson Boswell who also survives her.
They both retired from Owens-Illinois Company in Big Island, Va.
They have made their home in Bedford, Va. for the past 52 years.
Surviving also are sisters: Camille H. Lundeen Yuhas of St. George, UT., Dorothy Anne Brown of Selma, Al., Carolyn H. Gates of Germantown, TN., Wanda H. Kleinsasser of Klamath Falls, Or., and two brothers, Joab Helm of Bismark, AR., and Russell P. Gilbert, Jr. of Birmingham, Al.A family graveside service was held Friday, March 19, 2010 in New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, Al. with Burch Messier Funeral Home of Bedford, Va. directing.
Pallbearers were nephews Doug Buster, Robert Buster, Blake Buster, Brent Buster, Stephen Gates and Chris Gates.
