James Clifton Yawn, Sr. passed away on March 5, 2010 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Absee Yawn; brothers, Charles Yawn ,Richard Yawn; and a brother-in-law, Willie Wiggins.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Yawn; children, Doug Herrington, Richard (Pearl) Herrington, David (Louise) Herrington, Renee (Jeff) Bender, Jimmie Gayle Homsley, Cliff (India) Yawn, Jr.; sisters, Frasnces Wiggins of North Carolina and Averline Campbell of Selma; and brother, Elhert Yawn (Evelyn) of Mobile; a special son, Jay Carter; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, a brother, Ehlert (Evelyn) Yawn; and his sisters, Averline (Eldred) Campbell and Frances Wiggins.
