Willis Holloway

Willis Walter Holloway, age 95, of Selma, AL, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Warren Manor Nursing Home in Selma,AL. He was born November 16, 1913 in Fulton, AL. Mr. Holloway was a former owner of a wholesale grocery, he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and served in the US Army in the Aleutian Islands during the World War II and received the bronze star. He was offered a contract by the St. Louis Cardinals to play major league baseball as a pitcher. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Eloise Holloway. He is survived by son Willis W. Holloway, Mobile, AL. Granddaughter- Clara Jean Licastro- Minot, ND. Granddaughter- Sarah Kay Bartz- Durham, NC. Great Grandson- Evan Joseph Licastro- Minot, ND. Graveside services with military honors were held at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, AL on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL. directing
