A winter storm watch will be in effect after midnight.

At this time it appears that Dallas County and areas generally along and south of a line from Aliceville to Calera to Roanoke may received 2-to-4 inches of snow accumulation mainly during the daylight hours Friday.

School officials and public safety officials are expected to receive updates early this afternoon from the National Weather Service.
