Police nab robbery suspect

SELMA – Police arrested a 57 year-old man Monday morning and arrested him for robbery.

Mr. Samuel Williams is accused of robbing an acquaintance at knifepoint. Mr. Williams allegedly then took $500 from the 75 year-old man. The incident took place Jan. 5 at 10:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Street.

“The suspect is accused of cutting the victim on his neck with the knife,” said Sgt. Doug Stewart. “That is when he removed the $500 cash from the man.”

The suspect then fled from the scene, but Monday morning officers caught up with him. He was arrested and then placed in the Dallas County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
