The homegoing celebration for Freddie Mae Woods, formerly of Selma, AL, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mission Baptist Church, Gadsden. The Rev. Grady E. Robinson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. West Gadsden Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Woods Sr.; three daughters, Wilma Dean (Ollie) Christmas, Panama City, Fla., Patricia A. Derico, San Jose, Calif., and Shirley A. (Reginald) Geary, Lorton, VA; three sons, Mose Derico, Panama City, Fla., John (Vickie) Woods Jr., Gadsden, and Perry (Emma Sue) Woods, Seattle, Wa.; 10 grandchildren, Lasonja, Lakisha, Candice, Meoki, Herman, Ollie III, Allah, Dalvin, John III and Brandon; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertha Pressley; one brother, William (Roberta) Dawson, Los Angeles, CA; sisters-in-law, Annie Sue Melson, Eve Woods, Kate Woods and Rose Woods; a special friend, Helen Buchanan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be tonight at West Gadsden Funeral Home.
