Taurus Brown-Smith, first grade teacher at Byrd Elementary, and Senovia Wilson Reading Coach at Byrd Elementary, where Beth Taylor is principal, were notified recently that they were National Board Certified.

National Board Certified Teachers are highly accomplished educators who meet high and rigorous standards. All 50 states, the District of Columbia and hundreds of local school districts recognize National Board Certification as a mark of high distinction.

Taurus Smith is the wife of Darrius Smith. She is the daughter of James Brown and Brenetta Donaldson. She is the daughter-in-law of Howard and Naomi Smith.

Senovia Wilson is the wife of Pastor Eric Wilson. She is the daughter of Collins and Geraldine Barley. She is the daughter-in-law of Delois Wilson.
