Bertha Melton Jones, age 73, resident of Selma, AL, died December 13, 2009 at Lighthouse Nursing home in Selma, AL. Services are scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2009 at 1 PM at First Baptist Church in Selma officiated by Rev. Frederick Hardy. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Jones Caver and her brother, Herman Melton Jr.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, James Jones Sr.; three sons, Bobby Jones, Danny Jones Sr., and James Jones Jr., all of Selma; two daughters, Doris Jones Mackey of Fort Pierce, FL, Cheree Jones of Selma; two brothers, Alvin Melton of Augusta, GA, and James C. Mel-ton of Spring Valley, NY; three sisters, Thurleen DePriest of Selma, AL, Blossie Bates of Selma, Lessie Johnson of Selma; and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will include her sons, grandsons and nephews.
