ORRVILLE — This time of year, the leaves start to change, cool air sneaks into the day and antique tractors and cars line up in Orrville.

Admire the antique tractors and cars at the eighth annual West Dallas Antique Tractor Show on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Orrville High School site, one block off Highway 22 in downtown Orrville, which is roughly 90 Church St.

“I call it the meeting of the old irons,” said Clete Verhoff, one of the coordinators for the event. “It just shows how it [farming] used to be done, all the work that used to go into it.”

More than 50 tractors and 20 to 30 cars will be on display, as well as exhibits from a blacksmith and pottery maker. There will also be arts and crafts, tractor race at noon, and about 50 vendors.

If that wasn’t enough, a petting zoo, music, wagon rides, bingo, a cakewalk, cake sale, horseshoes, quilter’s, pottery makers and children’s art will be on display.

The full day of fun will come at a good price. Admission is free. Any funds contributed will go to a great place too. The event is sponsored by the Orrville Volunteer Fire Department, who will also be accepting donations.

“It is just good, clean fun,” Verhoff said. “Everything is fun there for a young baby to an adult.”
