Bernice Shoultz Johnson, age78, of Selma, AL, passed away October 22, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bush and Etta Shoultz; husband of 55 years, Hilbert Johnson; son-in-law, Ronnie Hopkins; and
brothers, Jessie Lee Carter and Hawthorn Shoultz.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Johnson; daughter, Rita Hopkins; brother, Carroll Shoultz; grandchildren, Debra and Tate Bowden, Melissa and Joey Dobbs, Alan and Jessica Johnson, Roni and Chris Friday and Charles and Gina Rowlett; great-grandchildren, Madison Bowden, Isabella Bowden, James Johnson, Gabrielle Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Claye Hopkins, Ashlyn Friday, Lauren Davidson, Brooke Pugh and Taylor Rowlett; great-great-grandchild, Chloe Davidson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends
at the funeral home Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tate Bowden, Chris Friday, Alan Johnson, Chad Everidge, Charles Shoultz and Ryan Dunkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Dobbs, William Carter, James Carter and Gerald Carter.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Johnson’s niece, Dee Dee Quigley for all that she has done.
