Morgan opened play in the first set with strong service runs by Summer Pugh and Anne Woodruff to win decisively 25-16.

Hooper jumped ahead in the second set 8-3 only to have Morgan fight back behind strong serving by Catherine Armstrong to close the gap. Morgan made it 18-20 on a huge April Clark kill and pulled it to 20 apiece with Mary Peyton Zimmerman serving only to have Hooper rally and win 23-25.

In the third set, Morgan went ahead 11-7 only to have Hooper fight back and take the lead, 17-15. Morgan tied it up at 21 but couldn’t put it away and Hooper won 23-25 setting up the fourth set of the match as a “win or go home” one for Morgan.

Morgan Coach Jennifer Moore altered the rotation in the fourth. The score was tied at 7-all when Brandi Sharpe served and the team went ahead 10-7. Hooper took the lead again 15-11 and seemed to have the game in hand when it stretched the lead to 22-16. Morgan broke the Hooper serve at point 17.

They scored on four consecutive Pugh serves to change the momentum, take the win and force the fifth and deciding set.
