Ms. Mary Smith

Ms. Mary Alice Smith was born on March 31, 1951 in Selma, AL, to the late Eddie Mae Smith and Eugene Bolden, Sr.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Providence Baptist Church. She later joined Mt. Olive #1 Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Brown where she served faithfully until her health failed. She departed this life Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Lighthouse Rehabilitation &Healthcare Center.
She leaves to cherish her memories one loving daughter: Mirian A. Smith, of Woodbridge, VA and one loving son: VonDerrick (Taneka) Smith, of Selma, AL; three grandchildren: Maudisa Smith, of Woodbridge, VA; Taliyah and Makayla Smith, both of Selma, AL; one Godson: Quintone Smith, of Atlanta, GA; a loving stepmother, Annie Mae Bolden, of Selma, AL; seven sisters: Ella Mae (Charles) Sigler of Selma, AL, Annie (William) Bell of Sardis, AL, Bessie Hicks of Boise, MA, Delois Anderson, Texanna Hall, of Selma, AL, Sherry Mixon of Pensacola, FL, Althelia Bolden of Louisville, TX; nine brothers: Jerry (Brenda) Holmes, James Wallace of Atlanta, GA, Eugene Robinson, Matthew Smith of Millbrook, AL, Norman Bolden of Selma, AL, Alvin Bolden, Eric Bolden of Boise, MA, Jimmy Lee Towns of Pensacola, FL, and Eugene Bolden, Jr. of Nashville, TN; one aunt: Lucille (William) Dillard of Selma, AL; one great-aunt: Annie Mae Goldsby of Selma, AL; four uncles: Verna Lee (Beulah) Bolden, George (Amelia) Bolden of Selma, AL, Phillip Bolden of Greenville, AL, Larry Moorer of Detroit, MI; one great uncle: Thomas Boyd of Cincinnati, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Texanna Bolden, Sr. and Candace Smith; two aunts: Inez Bolden and Claudia Reynolds; one uncle: Jessie James Bolden; and one great aunt: Mary Gore.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive #1 Missionary Baptist Church, Selma, AL with Rev. A. L. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary.
