John Michael Parrish, 61, of Eutaw, AL, died September 28, 2009 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Franconia – Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Marshal Sutton officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Visitation will be held tonight, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 6-8pm at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Louise Parrish; brother, Charles Wendell Parrish, Jr.; and grandmother, Dorothy Neil Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Parrish of Eutaw, AL; daughter, Wendy Parrish of Eutaw, AL; father, Charles Wendell Parrish (Clem) of Aliceville, AL; sister, Cathy Booth (Billy) of Aliceville, Al; one grandson, Caleb Caldwell; two special grandchildren, Gregory Green III and Jordan Green; nephews, Richard Caldwell, Jr. (Heather) and Anthony Caldwell; niece, Tammy C. Gilbertson (Jason); special daughter, Tammy Hudson; and dear friend, Marlon Rittenberry.
Mr. Parrish was born February 6, 1948 in Selma, Alabama. He was a former grocery store owner and well-known resident of Green County.
Pallbearers will be Richard Caldwell, Jr., Anthony Caldwell, Marice Sutton, Wayne McGarity, Billy Booth, and Marlon Rittenberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Noland Long Term Care Hospital, DCH 3rd floor MICU, West Alabama Nephrology, Dr. Michael Robards, Geoffrey Alilonou, neighbors and friends in the Union Community.
