Elmer Dildy

Elmer “Homey” Dildy age 74 of Selma passed away peacefully at his home with family at his side on Tuesday September 22, 2009. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 1pm to 4pm at the residence of Vicki and Curtis Kilponen, 1151 Co. Rd. 43, Tyler, AL.
After 20 years of honorable service to the United States Air Force he retired as a T/Sgt., he then spent 18 more years until retiring from Miller Lumber Company as Chief of Security.
Mr. Dildy is preceded by his parents, Claudius J. and Mattie Lee Dilda and his two brothers, Eugene Dilda and Wilbur Dilda.
He is survived by his wife, Sondra J. Willcox Dildy, his children, Vicki (Kurtis) Kilponen of Tyler, Jonni (Marvin) Tindoll of Niceville, FL, Kyle Eugene Dildy of Selma, Dena “Wormey” Dildy of Valley Grande, and Dana “Worm” (Scott) Phillips of Valley Grande.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lane Frazer, Preston Phillips, Kathryn Elizabeth Dildy, and Hastin Ray Jeter, his brother, C. J. (Louise) Dilda, Jr. of Houston, TX, his sisters, Pauline Blaker, of Wilson, NC, Magdalene McCullen of Wilson, NC, Shirley (Ron) Stroud of Bailey, NC, his special nephews, Dale Beach of Montgomery, Dane (Sonya) Beach of Montgomery, and 15 nieces and nephews.
He was a lifetime member of VFW, Air Force Retired Enlisted Association.
