Jeane Davidson Carter of Browns and Selma passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday night.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Burr Edwin Davidson, Phillip Moss Davidson, John (Jack) Davidson and her husband of 58 years, Herbert Eugene Carter, Sr.
She graduated high school in Uniontown and attended Judson College.
After the 2nd World War she met a handsome war hero in uniform at the Saturday evening Selma Country Club Dance. They were married in October 1949 at the First Presbyterian Church in Selma.
They are survived by three children, Jeanie Carter Zorn and her husband Ross Zorn, Herbert Eugene Carter Jr. (Pete), and James William Carter (Jim). Grandchildren include Matthew Zorn, Dr. G. Carter Zorn, Emily Rose Carter, Beverly Ann Carter Smith and her husband Chris Smith, Nancy Katherine (Katie) Carter Rives and her husband Ben Rives and Holly Jean Carter.
Close friends and caregivers much appreciated by the family include Ms. Lisa Carter, Ms. Cliffadean Simmons and Mr. Amos Askew.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday September 11, 2009 at Marion Junction Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Our mother was kind and loving to everyone who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were especially blessed by her unerring faith, love and support.
