Johnnie Coleman Lowery, 83, of Marion Junction, AL died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Stacy officiating. Burial will follow at Sister Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Lowery is survived by his children, Nelda Curtis (Butch), Johnnie Vougal (Will), Darlene Nevin Farley (Gary), and Chester Lowery (Marilyn); grandchildren, Richard Carter (Jenny), Shawn Curtis (Jennifer), Donnie Nevin (Pam), Stephanie Chance, Stevie Reed (Christy), Elizabeth Lowery, Joey Lowery, and Nicky Lowery; great grandchildren, Drew Carter, Madison Carter, Dawson Curtis, Tyler Nevin, Bonilynn Chance, Avery Reed, and Olivia Reed, and; brother, Paul Lowery (Patricia); sisters, Bell Mooney (Jack), Doris Ar-nold, and Jean Longcrier; numerous step-children and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie B. Lowery; his brothers, Joe Mathis and Bo Lowery; sisters, Lucille Wesley and Rita Helms.
Active Pallbearers will be Richard Carter, Shawn Curtis, Donnie Nevin, Stevie Reed, Gary Farley, and Henry Hollingshead.
Mr. Lowery was a longtime member of Sister Springs Baptist Church and a current member of Fairview Baptist Church.
