Charles Edward Canterbury, age 63, of Linden, AL, passed away August 1, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Canterbury and his parents, Paul and Virginia Canterbury.
Surviving are his sons, Allen (Michelle) Canterbury, Johnny Paul (Amanda) Canterbury and Richard Newberry; brothers, William Kenneth Canterbury; sister, Patricia Ann Grace and seven grandchildren, Brandee Canterbury, Morgan Byrum, D. J. Martin, Jr., Nicole Canterbury, Samantha Goodwin, Nathan Goodwin and Cody Goodwin.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be John Paul Wilkerson, James White, Mark Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Craig Mott and Wayne Averette.

Henry White Vaughan Hudson Henry White Vaughan Hudson died August 1 on his birthday after an extended illness. He was born in Summerfield, AL and descended from early family in Dallas County. He was exactly 82 years old. During his lifetime, Mr. Hudson served briefly in the U.S. Army during and after World War II. He was a retired postal worker and had many friends and acquaintances along his rural route. Shortly prior to his retirement, he became successful as an investor of stocks and bonds, and many of his friends and relatives sought his advice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Henry W. Hudson and his wife Elizabeth Jones Stickney, two elder brothers Hardy and Jack, and his son, Jimmy Vaughan Hudson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Stokely) Hudson, his sister Alice Elizabeth (Hudson) Miller of Winter Park, Florida, a daughter and grandchild who live in Texas, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Graveside services were held Monday, August 3, 2009 at 10:00am.
