Billy Bobo

Billy Mack Bobo, age 74, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Baptist South Hospital.
Billy is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Georgia Bobo; son, Mark Paul (Tammy) Bobo of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Kimberly Bobo Bullard (Buckey) of Selma, AL’ grandchildren, Mark Dalton Bobo and Nolan Blake Bobo of Murfreesboro, TN, Jessica Nicole Bullard of Birmingham, AL and Trey and Mallory Summerlin of Selma, AL. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Leroma Bobo and Mable Chambers Bobo and his sister, Mary Bobo Rushing.
Graveside services will at New Live Oak Cemetery on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Ed Eaton officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m.
Billy owned Bobo’s Ambulance Service in Selma and retired as Captain from the Selma Police Department after spending thirty-nine years in law enforcement.
Billy was a very loving father and grandfather, affectionately known as “Paw-Paw” and will forever be missed.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Bobo, Nolan Bobo, Lawrence Vickers, Ricky Rushing, Rodney Rushing and Hubert Carmack. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Selma Police Department.
Family members would like to thank Dr. Barnes and Dr. White at Montgomery Cancer Center; Dr. Isola and Drew Burkett, R.N. with Baptist Hospice for the care they gave him during his illness.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
