Mrs. Velma U. Benson, 72, of Marion, AL died June 5, 2009 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Berean Missionary Baptist Church, Marion, AL, officiated by Pastor C. Dwight Woods, Sr. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include three sons, Chester Benson, Jr., Lee A. Benson, and Ronald A. Benson;one daughter, Jennifer L. Benson; two brothers,
Lester Wilkerson and Richard Wilkerson; four sisters, Rose Wilkerson, Inez Wilkerson,Ruby Wilkerson, and Dorothy Wilkerson; seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three daughters-in-law; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; three aunts, EmmaKate Bennett, Pigeon Kynard, and Clara Broadhead; one great aunt, Lilly Long; two aunts-in-law, Catherine Underwood and Ruth Underwood; and a host of cousins.
