Herbert Carmichael

Herbert Nall Carmichael, age 88, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.
Dr. Carmichael was born in Fairfield, Alabama and practiced medicine there for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josiah N. Carmichael and Pauline P. Carmichael, brother, Daniel W. Carmichael and grandson, Patrick Carmichael. Survivors include his wife, Alise Carmichael, sister, Elizabeth Skipper, children, Daniel H. Carmichael (Walta), Malcolm N. Carmichael (Jeannine) and Jane C. Gallaher. His surviving grandchildren include Kerry Carmichael, Wendy Carmichael, Shelley Carmichael, Mary Jacque Carmichael Carroll, and Emily Carmichael and one great-grandchild, Aislin Ogata. He is also survived by two stepsons, Noopie Cosby (Susan), and Ben Cosby (Kitty) plus many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Dan Carmichael, Doug Carmichael, Joe Skipper, George Skipper, Gilbert Douglas and Herbert Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ivy Creek United Methodist Church, 560 Autauga Co. Rd. 1 So., Selma, Alabama 36703.
