Ethel Gamble

Ethel Mae Gamble, 72, a resident of Selma passed June 2, 2009 at a local hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Monday June 8, 2009 at the Chapel of J. H. Williams &Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J. H. Williams &Sons Funeral Home directing.
She was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Thomaston, AL to the late Charlie and Lomenia Gamble. She confessed Christ at an early age at The First Baptist Church of Thomaston under Rev. R. C. Jones. She graduated from Marengo County Training School and moved to Selma where she worked for the First Baptist Church and for Henry Brick Co.
She leaves to cherish her memories three devoted sisters; Dandy Reen Luster of Birmingham, AL, Louvenia Gamble and Lomenia Gamble both of Cleveland, OH; one nephew Eddie Howard Luster of Birmingham, AL; dear friends Tom Jones, Marguerite Kahn and Wenona Thomas of Selma; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
