Earnest Jackson Sr., 98, of Marion, Alabama died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his residence. Services are scheduled for June 6, 2009 at 1:30 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Richard White. Burial will follow in Heard Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Aurthur Jackson and Howard Jackson; two brothers, Jerry Jackson and Eulas Jackson; five sisters, Donnie H. Montgomery, Evelyn Creel, Cornelia January, Mary J. Matt and Minnie Beth Jackson.
Survivors include spouse, Ermer Lee Jackson; parents Jim and Cora Jackson; ten sons, Earnest L. Jackson, Jr., Alexander Jackson, Sr., Theodore Jackson, Willie L. Jackson, Sr. Ceasar Jackson, Sr. Albert Jackson, Sr. James Jackson, J.C. Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Sr., and Disney Jackson, Sr.; six daughters, Dorothy J. Cosby, Lillie J. Miree, Lucinda J. Shelton, Mary C. Stabler, Barbara J. Starks, Patricia J. Turner; ninety-six grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; six sons-in-law; seven daughters-in-law; nine nieces; and two nephews.
