Mrs. Frances Mahan Hood of Wicksburg, formerly of Selma, AL, departed from this earthly life on June 1, 2009. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral service will also be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, AL with burial to follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will also receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, AL from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to either Pilgrim Home Baptist Church building fund, 13534 U.S. Highway 84, Newton, AL 36352 or to Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis, AL.
Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Hood, her parents, Jesse French Mahan and Mark Baker Scott, and her step-father, Bob Scott.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Bruce Storm of Cocoa Beach, FL, Sandra Sellers (Bud) of Wicksburg; one son: Rev. Buddy Hood (Anne) of Wicksburg; two grandchildren: Julie Glover (Marlen) of Wicksburg, David Berglund (Melissa) of Haleburg; several great grandchildren.
