Irma Jean Crum Owens, 53, a resident of Selma passed April 30, 2009 at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Saturday May 9, 2009 at Summer Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memorial Garden under the direction of J. H. Williams &Sons Funeral Home.
Irma was born in Selma to the late Samson Crum, Sr. and Rosie Lee Huff Crum. She distinguished herself as an educator and counselor with the State of Florida for many years before returning to Selma.
She is survived by two brothers; Rev. Samson Crum, Jr (Shirley) and Carl D. Crum (Eddie Mae) both of Montgomery; one sister Mary L. Brayboy (James) of Columbus, GA and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 7 pm.
