Gladys Elizabeth Griffin, age 95, passed away Saturday, May 02, 2009 in a local nursing home. The family received friends at Selma Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 5, 2009 3:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Thomasville, AL with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Gladys) Griffin and Alfred (Linda) Griffin; daughters, Martha (Bill) Anderson, Margaret (Bucky) Buchanan and Keeble (Jim) Brantley; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ivey J. Griffin, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Waurine and Billy Wallace; brothers, Ed Frittle, Gilmore Frittle and Alvin Frittle; sisters, Annie Mae Strong, Ruby Hunt and Minnie Grace Jackson. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
