Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman says she will seek re-election next year.

Chapman had considered running for lieutenant governor. But she chose her 47th birthday on Monday to announce that she will seek re-election to a second term.

Chapman says the secretary of state’s office is a perfect fit for her and she wants to serve another four years.
