Mr. Roosevelt James, 82, of Selma, Alabama, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Grove Hill AME Church officiated by Pastor Evelyn Johnson. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Church Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service. Survivors include three sons, Jessie James of Dacula, Georgia, Cleophus James, and Ronnie (Pauletta) James, both of Selma, Alabama; five daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Berry of Selma, AL, Christine (Darvi) Hill of Fairburn, GA, Mazell James of Selma, AL, Brenda (Kevin) Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Annette Mixon of Detroit, MI; four brothers, Will Otis James of Cleveland, OH, Freddie and Robert James of Detroit, MI and Ollice James of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Annie Pearl Oden of Birmingham, AL and Ethel Lee (Alfonso) Smith of Cincinnati, OH; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Wake will be Friday, March 13, 2009 at Miller Funeral Chapel in Selma, AL from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
