L. C. Chappell, 80, of Jones, AL died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 260 County Rd. 1 North, Jones, AL 36749. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist officiated by Pastor James People. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ella Chappell and Buddy Scott; two brothers, Adoph Chappell and William Chappell; two sisters, Katie Mae Bethel and Clara Johnson.
Survivors include spouse Louise Chappell; three sons, Richard Chappell, Earl Chappell and Johnie Howard; one daughter, Maxine Acoff; one sister, Rosie Mae Leshore; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special relative, Clara Atkin.
