Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Lawrence-Brown Service Funeral Home, for Kathleen
(Kathy) Elizabeth Zuelzke who died at her home in Selma after a lenghty illness on Monday, March 9th. Dr. Ron Stone will officiate and visitation will follow immediately after the service at the church in the Warren Room. Kathy’s parents, Arthur Charles Zuelzke, Sr. and Martha McBride Zuelzke, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers Arthur Charles (Skeeter) Zuelzke, and his wife Kathy Deramus of Lake Mitchell, AL and Ernest Edward (Buster) Zuelzke and his wife Kathy Kelley, of Selma, her nephews Scott Thomas Zuelzke, Russell Drew Zuelzke and his wife, Jennifer, her niece Frances Elizabeth Zuelzke, nephews Reid McBride Zuelzke, and James Edward Zuelzke. She is also survived by a host of close friends. Kathy graduated from A.G. Parrish High School in Selma in 1968. She attended Auburn University and graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in New York City. She was a jeweler in Sarasota, FL before joining her mother’s business, Edwards Jewelry in Selma.
After her retirement, she was involved in civic affairs and especially enjoyed her volunteer work at the Sturdivant Hall Museum gift shop. Prior to her return to Selma,
