Mr. Jesse Levi Crosby Jr., age 60 of Blackshear, passed away Monday evening, February 9, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Crosby had lived in Blackshear for the past year and a half. He was a respiratory therapist and worked for the Appling Health Care System. He was a huge Auburn fan and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Crosby was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Levi, Sr. &Hazel Atchinson Crosby.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Crosby of Blackshear; three daughters, Kristie &Brad Fondren of Alabaster, Ala., Sunshine &Brian Cespedes of Birmingham, Ala., Morgan Crosby of Savannah, Tenn., a son Jesse Levi “Trey” Crosby III; a step daughter, Carey Alicia Thrift of Blackshear, a step son James “Chris” &Christina Thrift of Nahunta; a sister, Ann Bennett of Blackshear, seven grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorial services for Mr. Crosby will be held at 2:00 o’clock Thurs-day afternoon, February 12, 2009, from the chapel of Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mr. Crosby will be held from 6 until 9 pm tonight at the funeral home.
