Regina “Gina” Smedley Carlisle, age 49, a homemaker of Linden, AL., passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was born April 26, 1959, in Selma, AL. She was an active member of Linden United Methodist Church where she was chairman of the worship committee. As an organ donor, Gina will live on through the gift of life to others.
Visitation will be at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden, AL., on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Linden United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ray Bass, Rev. Jesse Shakleford, and Rev. Jim Meadows officiating. Burial will be at Linden Memorial Park, in Linden, AL. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden, AL., directing.
She was preceded in death by her father, John J. Smedley, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Carlisle of Linden, AL; daughter, Brooke (Jamee Johnson) Carlisle of Gallion, AL; two sons, Chris (Andria) Carlisle of Tuscaloosa, AL and Billy (Deborah) Car-lisle of Demopolis, AL; mother, Barbara Hall of Linden, AL; stepfather, Cess Hall of Linden, AL; brother, Jeff (Diane) Smedley of Demopolis, AL; sister, Julie (Rodney) Golson of Linden, AL; and three grandchilden, Brilyn Carlisle and Demi Frizzell both of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Haley Chase of Demopolis, AL.
