Maude Holifield

Maude Pitts Holifield, 101, of Marion, Alabama went to be with her Lord January 20, 2009 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama. Mrs. Holifield was born in Perry County May 24, 1907 to the late Will and Mary Elizabeth Pitts. Mrs. Holifield is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joel Benton Holifield; brothers, Hoyt Pitts and Thomas Pitts; and her sisters, Mary C. Smith, Sarah Fair, Catherine Rinehart, and Willie Vernon Bennett.
She is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn (John) Bush of Tuscaloosa, Beth (Brown) Bolding of Randolph, and her son, Ben (Donna) Holifield of Selma. She also leaves behind three sisters; Cecile Hulgan, Ellen Beecham, Frances Camp and her grandchildren; Leslie (John) Ferguson, Jennifer (Todd) Chancy, Kevin (Dana) Bolding, Kelli (Mike) Schofner, Monica (Rob) Willmington, Heath Holifield, and Heather (Craig) Johnson.
Great Grandchildren; Caroline Thompson, John Ben Thompson, Joseph Chaney, Anniston Bolding, Alexis Bolding, Emma Schofner, Caleb Schofner, Anna Johnson, Katie Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:30 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Schuyler will be officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-1:30 before the service.
Active pallbearers will be Heath Holifield, Kevin Bolding, Craig Johnson, Rob Willmington, John Ferguson, Todd Chaney, and Mike Schofner.
