Richard Donald Blevins, age 78, died Saturday January 17, 2009. Survivors include his sons; Richard D. Blevins Jr., (Pat), Joseph P. Blevins (Wanda), daughters; Theresa B. Duehring (Craig), Katherine Lenoir (Steve), grandchildren; Angelyn Swinney (Mark), Tricia Bullard (Nelson), Dale Edwards, Craig Edwards, Hailey Montgomery (Curtis), Bayne Edwards, Tyler Blevins, Brett Blevins, great- grandchildren; Addison and Anna Presley Bullard, nieces; Kelly Carne, Nikki Kerzic, sister-in-laws; Kay Stickney (RJ) and Lillian Blevins.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Queen of Peace on Tuesday January 20, 2009 with Father Carroll Plourde officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Rosary will be Monday January 19, 2009 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with visitation following from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Blevins was a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 30 years of service. He also retired from Selma Water Works. He was a member of Queen of Peace and The Knights of Columbus.
