Joyce W. Rush, age 76, a loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her son John Michael Rush. Survivors include her son, Marvin Rush (Carla) of Montgomery, AL; daughter, Lynne Landry (Ricky) of Wetumpka, AL; Grandchildren; Leslie King, Brooke King, Rejeana Landry, Ashley Rush, Tiffany Rush, Blake Rush, great granddaughter, Makalyn Busby, brother, Reverend Gary Pierce Wright (Peggy) of Pensacola, FL; sisters; Priscilla Wright of Montgomery, AL, Sarah Melton (Clifford) of Selma, AL, and Nona Davis of Selma, AL. A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday January 4, 2009 at Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home with burial following at New Live Oak Cemetery. Reverend Gary Pierce Wright will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday January 4, 2009.
Joyce retired from BellSouth/AT& after 39 years of service. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
