David Mike Edwards, age 80, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away December 30, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Norene Edwards; sister, Bernice Nichols and brother, Cecil Adolph Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Ann Edwards; two sons, David Michael (Mike) Edwards of Centreville, AL and Samuel (Sammy) Lawrence Edwards of Mobile, AL; one sister, Annie Nichols of Selma, AL; one brother, Robert Lee Edwards of Selma, AL; two step-sons, Ray (Paullette) Smith of Panguitch, UT and Kenny (Janice) Smith of Las Vegas, NV; one step-daughter, Rita (Len) Johnson of Selma, AL; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ocmulgee Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Summerlin and Rev. Frank Calloway officiating. Interment will be in Ocmulgee Baptist Church Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Edwards, Andy Edwards, Edward Shumate, Blake Jones and Roland Griffin, III. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. William Hinson, Dr. Park Chittom, Sr., Dr. Samer Fahoum, Dr. John Park and Dr. Robert Anderson.
