Lois Travis

Lois Vermel Godwin Travis, 95 of Belpre, Ohio died December 27, 2008 at the Harmar
Place in Marietta, Ohio. She was born in Selma, Alabama on February 16, 1913 and was
the daughter of the late Lloyd Washington Godwin Jr. and Elizabeth Soloman Godwin.
She was a member of the Casey Church of Christ in Selma, Alabama, and had attended
the Belpre Church of Christ for more than 20 years. She loved reading, cooking, and
loved to travel.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Travis Crum and husband Robert L. of Belpre with
whom she made her home for twenty years. Two grandchildren, Robert Bryan Crum and
wife Maggie of Medina, Ohio, Staola Crum Rhodes and husband Michael of Fredrick, Maryland, three great grandchildren, Casey Crum, Melanie and Vance Rho-des. Also surviving are two sisters, Katherine Pearson of Birmingham, Alabama and Ina Crowder of Montgomery, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Phillip Givan Travis, two
brothers, Mack and Roscoe Godwin, two sisters, Delsey Chance and Billie Griffen.
Services will be at the Belpre Church of Christ on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 6:00
PM.
Friends may call at the church from 4:00 PM. till time of services. There will also be a
funeral in Selma, Alabama on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Selma Funeral Home at
2:00 PM. Friends may call at the Selma Funeral Home on Saturday from noon till time of
services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belpre Church of Christ in her memory.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Harmar Place for the love and wonderful
care that they gave to Lola during her stay there.
