John Kiemele

John Louis Kiemele, 97, of Temple, TX, a former resident of Selma, AL. Mr. Kiemele died Sunday in a Temple hospital.
Funeral services for John Louis Kiemele, 97, of Troy will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Troy with Rev. Harlan Haines officiating. Burial will be in Temple Garden of Memories.
Mr. Kiemele was born on September 16, 1911, in Alberta, Canada to George Kiemele and Vera Hall Kiemele, where he lived for ten years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Ella Mildred Jones on April 15, 1941. He finished High School in California and moved to Detroit, Michigan. He attended Barber College and moved to Eclectric, Alabama, where he was a barber for five years. He moved to Selma, Alabama and was a barber there for fifty five years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Selma, Alabama and was a 32nd Degree Shriner in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Selma. He moved to Troy in April, 1993 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.
Survivors include his son John W. Kiemele Sr. of Temple; four brothers and five sisters all of Alberta, Canada; two grandchildren Michael Scott Kiemele of Rock, Illinois and John W. Kiemele Jr. of Houston and six great grandchild Kimberlee, Kayla, Jared and Samantha of Houston and Nobel and Hayden of Rock, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
