Charles Coggins

Charles “Chuck” F. Coggins died on December 7, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on January 16, 1951, to Charles W. and Pauline Coggins, both of whom preceded him in death.
He graduated from high school in Newark, California. He retired as a technical sergeant from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He graduated from Devry University with an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics. He worked at Honeywell HTSI as an Associate Engineer III.
He was a gifted guitarist and performer, an avid music lover, and a life-long motorcycle enthusiast. He was also an avid animal lover. He enjoyed spending time and traveling with friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Aletha “Lee” Coggins; daughters, Lisa R. Travis and Teresa L. Ball; sons, David C. Coggins and Matt D. Ball; grandchildren, Lenea, Tessa and Aaron; brother, Michael H. Coggins; sisters, Paula R. Rippee and Pamela J. Coggins and their spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews, many of them from California. He also leaves behind many friends from around the world, all of whom will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 7:00 pm, Southside Johnny’s 528 S. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO.
A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, from 2 Pm – 8pm, and also December 17th, 9am- 11am, at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, Turlock, California. He will be buried in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, California on December 17th at 1:30 p.m.
