DEMOPOLIS – Gerald Hugh Elmore, age 76, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors directing services.
Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Elmore; his daughter, Melissa Jo “Missy” E. Scarbrough; his grandson, John Taylor Scarbrough; his parents, Claude and Dessie Porter Elmore; and his brother, William Elmore.
Survivors include his daughter, Jerrie Ann (Michael) McCreless of Tuscaloosa; three sons, Dana (Donna) Hollis of Selma, Tim (Johna) Hollis of Cartersville, Ga, Phillip (Mona) Hollis of Loxley; his son-in-law, John Scarbrough of Demopolis; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Farris, Hugh Scarbrough, Grey Scarbrough, Sammy Hollis, Hannah Hollis, Patrick McCreles, and Alex McCreles; two great-grandchildren; Julia Farris and John Farris; his sister, Nancy (Scott) Keseler of Reform; two brothers, Grady Ray (Nita) Elmore of Ethelsville and Ted (Martha) Elmore of Northport.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Scarbrough, John David Farris, Perry Parten, Ricky Vice, and Jimmy Dutton.
Mr. Elmore was a native of Reform and a resident of Demopolis and a retired supervisor with Alabama Power Greene County Steam Plant. He was a member of Reform Baptist Church in Reform.
