Robert Truax

Robert L. Truax, 80, of Huntsville, Alabama died at his home Friday. He had been a resident of Huntsville for nine years. Bob received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas, a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi, and a doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
He taught mathematics in the Crossett, Arkansas school system, Southern Arkansas University, and the University of Mississippi. He retired from Ole Miss in 1994, having taught there for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Truax; daughter, Leigh Losset and husband, Keith, of Madison, Alabama; son, James Truax and wife, Doris, of Selma, Alabama; granddaughter, Courtney Silverbach and husband, Ted, of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandson, Andrew Truax of Selma; and sisters, Joann Smith of North Richland Hills, Texas and Doris White of Gillet, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. The graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Larry Wright officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Huntsville Public Library.
