Edward F. Burns, 49, of Selma, AL died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Mt. Zion-Potters Station with the Rev. Herman Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Emmerson cemetery, Hwy. 219 under the direction of Millers Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Rositta Summerlin-Burns, his parents, Ella Mae Burns and Frank Rose; two sons, Edward Irby and Markeith Burns; six daughters, Shemika Irby, Arqueeta and Auquetta Irby, Markita Burns, Marquita McQueen and Porcha Parker; five brothers, James Burns, Curt and Curtis, Robert Dunkin, Melvin Rose and extended family Purdie Brothers; four sisters, Rosie Burns, Dorothy Burns, Brenda Burns and Wanda Rose; eight grandchildren, one sister-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
