Rita Ann Helms, age 75 of Selma passed away on September 21, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral services were held on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Lambert officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert “Sonny” Hollingshead and W.C. Helms and her grandson Troy Sims.
Mrs. Helms is survived by her children, Joyce (Carl) Smith, Henry (Cathy) Hollingshead Sr., Benny (Debbie) Hollingshead Sr., and Denise Verhoff.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brad (Kristie) Fondren, Carissa (Bruce) Adams, Kyle (Kellie) Kinman, Henry (Amber) Hollingshead Jr., Tonya (Kerry) Kendricks, Benny C. (Vanessa) Hollingshead Jr., Lacy Hollingshead, Stephanie (Eric Kelly) Jackson, great-grandchildren, Wil and Matt Fondren, Alexis Adams, Landon and Logan Kinman, Trey and Emily Hollingshead, Alex, Preston, and Ellen Kendricks, Hannah and Haly Hollingshead, Jada Kelly, and Alyssa Verhoff.
Mrs. Helms is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Bell (Jack) Mooney, Paul (Tricia) Lowery, J.C. Lowery, and Jean Longcrier.
Pallbearers were Bruce Adams, Kerry Kendricks, Carl Smith, Brad Fondren, Benny Hollingshead Jr., and Henry Hollingshead Jr.
